The Sensationally Absurd Life and Times of Slim Dyson
As those of you who have followed the early chapters of the story we've posted here know, the hero of the story is a homeless writer who accidentally finds fame and fortune. Here's the story synopsis:
"Slim Dyson is a man about town. He's an artistically inclined urbanite, a ladies man, and a social butterfly. The only problem is that he's homeless. Well, he doesn't have a problem with that. In fact he doesn't have any problems at all, because Slim Dyson is the most optimistic man alive. In fact, his optimism borders on delusion. And when he accidentally becomes catapulted into fame and fortune, Slim finds himself thrust into a world where honesty and optimism come to die: Hollywood.
The life of luxury is foreign to a man who would rather sleep on a shelter cot. Will Hollywood change Slim? Can even the purest heart survive the washing machine of Fame without fading? And what's the point of a toilet that shoots water up your butt, anyway?"
Now, like all our other novels, this story is available as an e-Book exclusive, sold through Amazon. But, that doesn't mean you have to have a Kindle to read it! For those without Kindles, fret not, because you can still read this book on your computer. On the right hand side of the page we linked above, click the link that says 'Available on your PC,' right below where you Buy.
From
here, you'll be directed to a page where you can download the Kindle
program for your computer. Just download, install, and register (it's
free), and from there, if you buy our book, Amazon will send it to your
computer, rather than to a Kindle.
If not, you can also just read it on your web browser straight through Amazon.com.
Buy it here.
Also, as a reminder, we'll be holding our Party Like Slim Dyson contest on Thursday, where you the reader will help us by voting on who threw the best homeless party. The winner will become immortalized on the blog and get a signed copy of our unreleased novella manuscript, Lost and Found. Be sure and check it out. We have some killer entries.
Lastly, both of us just want to stop and say thank you to all of you in the blogging community. Whether you're a blogger or a reader, whether this is your first visit or your thousandth, it's your support that gives us the ability to do what we love, and that's write. We might not

I thought the movie deal was only worth one million...though I also think that they said that was only the first check and he'd get more or something. So it could actually be 8, or I could be totally wrong. Well, either way, good luck with the book guys and hopefully there will be one movie based on one of your books. I personally am looking forward to Genghis Khan's Mongolian Starship: The Movie. Again, I only think that's how it goes.
ReplyDeleteDamn I suck sometimes.
Yep, you're right, the movie deal was worth 8 million and he just got 1 million up front.
DeleteAlso, we can't promise Genghis Khan the movie, but this epic time traveling story may or may not be our next novel...
(Don't worry, it's not)

This is the one ABFTS contest that I was unable to participate in. Shocking, I know. I'm almost always quick to jump into your contests! Had a busy week though.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the release! This is definitely one I will be purchasing...once I get my head above water! I promise! I am currently in a financial nightmare and right now, $2.99 is a lot of money to me. That could buy a gallon of milk, or 2 loaves of bread that will feed my family.
I'm so excited to read the trials and tribulations of Slim. So hoping he comes out a hero that I know lies inside of him!!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe a few too many Fat Tires? You boys are getting sentimental on us! :)

ReplyDeleteCongrats!!! That is awesome, can't wait to pick it up!
ReplyDeleteYou guys need to slow up!

Hooray! I'll totally get it.
ReplyDeleteYay, congrats! I can't wait to buy it and find out what happens to Slim. I won't have time until the weekend, but then I can plow right through it. And I also can't wait to read all of the party entries.

ReplyDeleteI'm really excited to find out what happens to Slim. And to read all of the entries. I wish I could have joined but I couldn't think of anything and I didn't have the time to write it anyways. But as long as I get to help vote (and read your ebook), I'm excited!
ReplyDeleteGood luck you guys, it makes me happy to see this gem get released :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I'm going to force someone with funds to buy this for me. I want the signed copy, but I'm sure no cameras will be around for my Party Like Slim Dyson party.
ReplyDeleteSticking ole Slim in the Kindle. Excited to see where he ends up.
ReplyDeleteRiot Kitty sent me - and she was right. I will be back (Kindleless) as soon as my to-read pile is reduced. The synopsis had huge amounts of charm. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWoo-hoo! Congratulations! For some reason I thought your blog party was today, not Thursday. The entries should be fun!
