No, not that kind of special. Today, I'm happy to announce that my new e-book has just been released for sale over at Amazon. It's a collection of short horror stories titled Chasing the Sandman. Here's the link. As many of you may not know, when I'm not working with Bryan, I don't usually write humor. No, ever since I naively devoted my soul to the fiction biz (way the hell back five years ago) I've always loved telling scary stories...
So, this book is sort of a tossed salad (not that kind) of my past five years' experience writing short stories. Like any good salad, it offers a bit of variety. You may enjoy some of the ingredients better than others, since some of them are a little fresher, but overall I think you'll be happy to clean your plate. Hopefully without getting the runs. No promises.
Here's the cover. I shot it last week at an undisclosed location where there were a lot of dead people. I don't think they minded.
For those without Kindles, fret not, because you can still read this book on your computer. On the right hand side of the page linked above, click the link that says 'Available on your PC,' right below where you Buy.
From here, you'll be directed to a page where you can download the Kindle program for your computer. Just download, install, and register (it's free), and from there, if you buy my book, Amazon will send it to your computer, rather than to a Kindle.
Speaking of books, as I'm sure some of you have seen, our Kickstarter campaign was a success! Endless thanks to all of you who pledged money to help us get our next novel The Dead Don't Play Slots produced. You're all fucking rockstars. We're hoping the cover will be finished in the next month and we can get the novel released (and your rewards sent out) directly. More news will be relayed as it becomes available.
Also, stay tuned for next Monday, when Bryan's solo novel, "Demetri and the Banana-Flavored Rocketship," will be coming out via E-book, too. It's a love story between a man and a blowup doll, it's hilarious, and you won't want to miss out on it.
Cheers!
-Brandon

Congrats!! Will you consider giving us a sneak preview on the blog? Also, very cool/creepy cover. Well done.
ReplyDeleteYou are some VERY busy guys. Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteWow- Brandon that cover shot is impressive. Great job. Loving all the good news and cool things happening/going on with you two!
ReplyDeleteI love horror stories. Alas, Amazon tells me that "this title is not available for customers from your location"
ReplyDeleteAny chance of you releasing it on Smashwords?
Congratulations! I'm one of those who aren't into creepy... I don't like to be scared lol... but I'll definitely spread the word :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, let us know how the sales go - I'm curious. Thanks!
I believe someone named SMITH is going to sue you for copyright infringement concerning unauthorized photographic use of their tombstone. Your sweet, sweet profits will go to legal fees. Welcome to the world of publishing.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, Monkey Gonorrhea! Congratulations, but is this really just Stephan King writing under yet another pseudonym? That guy can't stop writing things that start off good and fizzle out very disappointingly. Oh, it's actually you? I'll have to check it out being a fan of the previous things you've written.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new book! I will be sure to buy a copy just as soon as I get my bank account out of the negative (thanks to the $5.00 I pledged for your successful kickstarter campaign)
ReplyDeleteI like the photo you took!
Tell Bryan to stop telling those "whore" stories!
Congrats and yeah it is surprising just how many people think they need kindle to read them haha
ReplyDeleteHmm...sounds like a creepy love story! I don't do scary any more, but I'll pass on the info..I may have to check out the blow up doll story...could be very funny, especially considering the source!
ReplyDeleteMonkey Gonorrhea is no laughing matter people!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the short stories. I hope they're so scary they make me pee my pants.
ReplyDeleteThat's so fabulous that your books are being released!!! I'll tell anyone that asks where they can find your book, since I'm not into scary stories myself. :)
ReplyDeleteClicked and purchased. Short stories are really my favorite style, and horror/macabre tales are right up my alley. Looking forward to reading it.
ReplyDeleteDudes! Congrats on another awesome book! If I had an e reader I would totally buy one! :D
ReplyDeleteGot it and I'll be sure to do my review. The cool thing is, Amazon reminds me in a few days. I'm so glad the Kickstarter was a success - I'm still trying to think of a cool drawing...one to counteract what Dan and Pat did to me....
ReplyDeleteGood luck guys!!
Ugh I need one of those Kindles. All this time I've been refusing to switch from books to kindle, but it may be time. Just for reasons such as these. :) Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big horror guy, but I'll let my gf know about this. She eats this shit up.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Brandon!
ReplyDeleteI'll be hopping right over to pick that up. It will probably be a couple of weeks, at least, before I get a review up. I'm in the middle of an editing job that I need to finish ASAP.
ReplyDelete"The Kitchen Table" is available, today (and tomorrow), for free. Just FYI.
Awesome cover for the book, and congrats on getting it released!
ReplyDeleteP.S. When you get a chance, I'd like to hear about that monkey story.
You've got a couple of very convincing reviews up already, congrats! It sounds appealing..
ReplyDeleteVery nice picture for the cover! I'm not big into scary stories, but I can spread the word and I'll probably end up reading it for Halloween anyways. haha
ReplyDeleteCongrats! :D
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the release!
ReplyDeleteJust purchased!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to it. Buying now.
ReplyDeleteAt first I was all, "THREE WHOLE DOLLARS! That's like... a soda AND a candy bar!" But I decided that this book may last longer than soda and candy bar enjoyment, so I am willing to give it a try.
Nice! Congratulations on the book and the Kickstarter campaign!
ReplyDeleteI have finally decided to cave and buy a Kindle. As soon as I get it, I will be buying the book. I love scary stories.
ReplyDeleteGOOD STUFF AND MANY CONGRATULATIONS. MAY THIS BE THE BOOK THAT SKYROCKETS YOUR PENIS INTO THE VAGINA OF MANY A NAUGHTY LIBRARIAN! I hope that it does amazing.
ReplyDeleteMy great-grandparents were Mary and Wilson Smith, and I don't appreciate you making your dirty money on their graves!
ReplyDeleteThey're going to haunt your ass because of this.
Would that be irony or divine justice? If you were haunted by the residents of grave whose picture you used for a scary story book...
I mean, it sort of seems like building your house on a Native American graveyard... It's no dumber a concept than "The Ring".
>> . . . THE DEAD DON'T PLAY SLOTS
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I couldn't help wondering if that title was inspired by Albert Einstein's oft-quoted statement, "GOD DOES NOT THROW DICE."
OK, this may be a little off-topic (as if the subject of beer could ever really be off-topic on THIS blog) but... earlier today, I had for the first time, a bottle of 'DENVER PALE ALE' by Denver's own 'Great Divide Brewing Co.'
Not bad stuffs, Beer Boys! I don't think it had any realistic chance of winning me 'n' Nappy's big 'Blind Beer Taste-Testing Competition', but it probably deserved to have been invited to the dance.

Congrats guys
ReplyDeleteI see you're all making full advantage of the online publishing system. I wouldn't say that's the way I'd like to go, but economic depression is a not-so-wonderful thing, I guess.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new book- I hope it is a huge success!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I will check it out.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your book and congrats on the Kickstarter!
ReplyDeleteDownloaded and already reading ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats guys
So much good news, congratulations. More than humor, I love a good scare. It's been ages since I have felt fear. Let's see if your stories change all that.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the book release. I'm sure it will be a boffo hit.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Guys. So excited and happy that you got your goal achieved with the Kickstarter.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you've got another book out, although I still have to get round to reading the missing link. Just got one thing to say though, you might want to try moving the text on the front cover to being IN the tombstone... it's kinda hard to read.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the book release. Sounds like something I need to check out.
ReplyDeleteYou smooth bastards! Good work!
ReplyDeleteBrandon- love the cover of the book. It looks great. I'll be getting my copy shortly. Congrats to both of you on the Kickstarter campaign. I was really glad to see that e-mail in my inbox!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff...someone should do a spotters guide to celebrities along the line of a bird watching book...
